Plastics!
I met with Dr Bergman on Friday. She's everything that everyone said she was. Very knowlegable, kind, caring, a good listener...
I'm scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast lift/augmentation on August 7th.

I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
I called them for an apt and they told me they dont accept insurance. I thought some one on here had just told me that they had gotten approved and they had the same group of Drs. so i called them and got cut short...
I had heard nothing but good about them till i talked to the office girl! she cut me right off when i mentioned insurance.
Carla
Carla, I am going with Dr. Bergman and my insurance is paying the most of my costs. I am paying the difference from a panni to a full tummy tuck myself but my insurance is paying the rest. I know Carmen had her insurance pay for a portion of her surgery and I beleive Dawn did too. So...I suspect you got someone who did not know what they were talking about :o) Call them back and tell them you heard about them from current and former patients on the obesity help boards and have them check again. I know for a fact they are in the IHN and UHC networks. Danielle is the one who primarily handles the insurance papers so ask for her. Feel free to use my name for a reference. Let me know how it goes.
Hugs!

They copied my insurance card. I'm self pay as my insurance excludes all plastic surgery. But when they asked for my card, I gave it to them.
Try again and ask for Danielle.

Dr Bergman gives a discount for multiple surgeries. This extends to other family members also. Her pricing was very reasonable and less than the prices listed on a hand-out I received from Dr Jones. The fees for the Dr & surgical center must be paid 2 weeks prior to surgery. There are several lending options especially for this type of surgery, but I recommend that you check with your bank first. In anticipation of this, DH & I arranged a home equity line to cover the expense. It was a good option for us and the rate was only 6.5%.

Lisa, I applied for a care credit loan. It is a interest free for 12 months loan that is specifically for medical, cosmetic, dental, etc... When approved you get a credit card in the mail and your charges are billed to that and then you make your monthly payments. Once you pay it down you can use it for another procedure. My goal is to pay off this surgery and then see about my upper arms at a later date. I love the no interest part and for 12 months to pay it is alot easier to manage. They do allow a longer payment plan if you choose that has small finance charges. Check it out at www.carecredit.com Good Luck!
